IES’s <VE Compliance> works in conjunction with CIBSE Weather Files; you will need to purchase or already have the relevant CIBSE files for your region in order to run the software.
The CIBSE Weather Files are available to purchase through the <VE> software. There is a total of 14 Weather Data Sets available (London, Edinburgh etc). IES recommend users to purchase the full set as this is more cost effective and flexible. Users wishing to purchase more than five weather files should purchase the full set.
Each single weather file is available at £150.00 plus VAT (£176.25 inc. VAT) per seat or £850 plus VAT (£998.75 inc. VAT) for all 14 files.
Additional licences (multiple seats) are available for 2 to 10 users at £50 per data set or £284 per full bundle. No additional charge is made for additional users above 10.
These prices apply equally to customers with Stand Alone, LAN and WAN based licences.
For <VE> v5.9.0 and above, the simulation weather file (.fwt) should be placed in the folder: c:://ProgramFiles/IES/sharedcontent/weather.
For versions of the <VE> prior to 5.9.0, the simulation weather file (.fwt) should be placed in the folder Program Files/IES/apps/Apache.
The weather file will then be available for selection in ApLocate.
How to buy
The CIBSE Weather files are available for purchase through the <VE> Software. Start running the <VE> software and go to the tab IES Online / My user area. You will be taken into the IES Support Centre where you will need to click on the "Your Account" tab at the top right corner. Click on the "Weather files" tab on the left and the list of available sites will be displayed. An online order can now be made and once payment has been confirmed, you will see the weather files listed under your account ready for download.
Note: The <VE> will need to be restarted to activate the new weather data.
New future CIBSE Weather Files
