VE-SBEM

Free 3D interface to SBEM!

IES has made access to SBEM via its <Virtual Environment> free of charge. Google SketchUp™, Autodesk® Revit® and existing IES users will not require any other software in order to access the free SBEM module.

VE-SBEM is a front-end interface that provides a 3D graphical route to the non-dwelling UK compliance SBEM engine. It currently links to SBEM v3.5a. In order to access VE-SBEM SketchUp can be downloaded for free or IES ModelIT can be purchased as an add-on if required.

Advantages

  • No laborious re-input of geometry (bring direct from SketchUp or Revit)
  • No need to re-learn new 3D modelling tool (access from convenient and widely used tools – SketchUp and Revit)
  • Visual model increases transparency
  • Visual model allows quick accuracy checks
  • Data can be assigned to multiple grouped rooms

The nature of IES’s software also allows users to easily add other UK compliance and performance analysis, so you can compare and contrast how meeting compliance criteria actually affects the building’s performance.
