In order to get a good understanding of all the modules within VE-DSM it is recommended that you undertake the following online e-training, in the following order:
| IES Training | Session Structure |
| ModelIT and/or SketchUp into IES (UK) | Two sessions - A&B and/or One session* |
| Apache | Two sessions - A&B* |
| VE-DSM or VE-DSM (Scotland) | One session or One session - face-to-face only* |
| VE-SBEM (only required if using free SBEM link) | One session |
During the ModelIT and/or SketchUp into IES training you will cover 3D model creation, while in the Apache training you will cover dynamic thermal simulation in more detail.
The VE-DSM training will show you how to prepare building and system data; perform compliance checks including carbon dioxide emissions and summer temperatures; and then view the results and documentation using the Dynamic Simulation Model (DSM) route for non-dwellings. Elements covering the creation of EPCs by the DSM route, and the related advisory reports are also included.
e-training sessions are priced at £200 per session (for up to 2 people) and then at £100 per person after that.
*If you have purchased the Level 5 Energy Assessor Pack, these sessions are included in the pack price.
