IES Consulting can work with you as part of the project’s daylighting studies to undertake the specific simulation required to meet the BREEAM daylight requirements, including daylight factors and uniformity ratios. These simulations can be run in conjunction with BREEAM Energy analysis to highlight potential trade-offs or synergies.
The BREEAM Health & Wellbeing Credit HW1 states that at least 80% of the net lettable floor area is adequately daylit. An average daylight factor of 2% must be achieved plus a uniformity ratio of 0.4, or a view of the sky from desk height must be achieved when the specified room depth criterion is satisfied.
IES’ skilled consultants can work with you on this throughout the design process, as well as produce all the final documentation. Our Accredited BREEAM professionals can also support the design team through the entire BREEAM process and undertake all other required modeling and simulation.
