At IES, we offer a flexible and supportive working environment and the opportunity to work with a team of friendly, interesting and diverse people from across the globe, who are passionate about what we do.
The world is waking up to the reality of climate change and the Virtual Environment is the only tool which allows the design team to simulate the full performance of a building model. IES is at the forefront of cutting edge technology in the green building sector. Our high tech software enables our clients to design high quality and innovative buildings whilst minimising the impact on the environment.
IES is currently looking for building simulation students keen to gain work experience. The role is fully paid and runs for a minimum of 12 weeks during June to September. This position will support our Consultants across a range of commercial and R&D projects using our simulation technology. The position is full time, working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Candidates will be working towards a qualification in the building services realm. We are looking for self-motivated students who are keen to increase their commercial experience. We require individuals who can work on their own initiative but also have the ability to work along with others as part of a team.
Experience of using building simulation software will be a distinct advantage, ideally the IES VE software but full training will be given to the right candidates. If you have experience with any of the following architectural CAD packages such as AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUP, ArchiCAD and Rhino you will be at an advantage in the selection process.
In return we offer the chance to gain valuable work experience with a fast moving company in an exciting and supportive work environment. You will be paid the living wage throughout the placement and receive a holiday entitlement. We also offer flexible start times to assist travel to and from work.
Please send a covering letter and CV to email@example.com and include the details of any experience in using building simulation software including model examples if available. Our recruitment process involves visiting our office in Glasgow or Dublin to meet with two of our senior members of the consultancy team for a face-to-face interview and sitting a short test. Closing date 5th January 2018.
We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation. Individuals are treated on the basis of their relevant merits and abilities.
Information on all candidates being considered for roles within the organisation will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended from time to time).
