We are currently recruiting a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (2nd Line) in our Glasgow HQ.
The successful candidate will become part of a UK based team responsible for the IT systems in the Glasgow head office, other regional offices and online /cloud. The role is an exciting new role supporting our software development team as we develop new systems and expand our online portfolio of software and services. You will identify opportunities for adopting new tools and techniques from the wider industry and make suggestions to continuously improve our processes and systems. Using suitable online platforms and in house test facilities the successful candidate will drive deployment and hosting of our online services as we continue to move into the IoT space.
The majority of the role will be split between supporting delivery of our online, cloud based R&D projects for European Grant funded work and other sponsors and support the delivery of our online, cloud based tools which use the Virtual Environment as an engine to model and evaluate commercial smart buildings within the Internet of Things (IoT) space. The remainder of the time will be spent running the company’s 2nd line IT work.
You will be an experienced second line IT engineer looking to expand your skills, be cautiously confident when dealing with complex systems and also be an excellent communicator. You should have an IT qualification to HND or degree level (or relevant alternative) and a desire to further your professional qualifications.
