Future City Glasgow savings, additional opportunities, funding and efficiencies amount to £144m

By Edwina Cramp on Monday 13 November 2017

In 2013, Glasgow competed against 29 other cities for a £24m award from Innovate UK to become a smart city. In securing that funding, Glasgow has managed to transform services and become digital innovators. Making connections between different problems, between different solutions and different players is fundamental to it. The programme has led to savings, additional opportunities, funding and efficiencies amounting to £144m.

IES was involved in the project as the developers of the Glasgow Energy App. You can find out more in the videos below which look at the impact of the project on Glasgow and feature our own CTO Craig Wheatley.
