We are pleased to be co-hosting a free Faculty event with the Society of Digital Engineering on Thursday, 22nd March in Central London. In this instalment of the IES Faculty series, Dr Naghman Khan of IES will explore the topic “Digital Design and Engineering: The role of simulation in building design AND operation”. The session will focus on innovative and proven methods to optimise the design and operation of buildings, using building data and a single platform.
The role of simulation in building information modelling (BIM) and operation will be discussed using recent case studies and a panel discussion.
We are delighted to announce that we will be joined at the Faculty by two special guest speakers. Carl Collins, Digital Engineering Consultant to CIBSE, will join us to discuss where simulation and performance modelling fit into BIM and the key challenges this presents. He will also take a look at the role of data in design and how software applications can use data to effectively link the design and operation stages. We will also be joined by Lucas Cusack, Project BIM Manager at Westfield Europe. Lucas will discuss the application of BIM and advanced technology for design and operation at Westfield.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about recent industry trends with Naghman Khan and network with your peers at the event.
What will be covered?
