During his most recent round the world trip Dr. Don McLean, Founder & CEO of IES, was invited to visit Vishwakarma University (VU) in Pune for the launch of the ‘Eco-Campus Initiative’ where he unveiled a plaque to mark the event. Through the initiative the university plans to reduce its overall energy consumption in coming years.

University students have already collaborated with IES, using the VE to carry out an energy audit of each of the university buildings to determine the current energy usage of the campus as part of an industry project. Vishwakarma University will use the findings from the study to minimise its energy usage and help increase the energy efficiency of the campus.

Don also visited Malaysia during the trip where he was keynote speaker at the ReSTED conference. The central theme of ReSTED was “Creating Solutions for Future Survival”. Don’s presentation discussed IES, its technologies and looking to the future.

Don delivered a similar presentation at the UTAR Campus in Malaysia and was delighted to meet staff and students interested in sustainable building and smarter cities.
