IES was asked to present our practical experience in implementing Digital Transformation of the Construction Industry at the recent 2019 European Conference on Computing in Construction (EC3).
As the premier European Conference for information, communication and technological research, innovation and policy for the Construction Sector as a whole in Europe, we were delighted to have been asked to present as part of the Industry Day.
During our session, which you can watch the video of below, we presented the ICL (Intelligent Communities Lifecycle), our new digital twin technology designed to put energy efficiency and sustainability at heart of smart cities.
Launched in April this year, the ICL is a platform of interconnected decision support tools that facilitates the planning, design and operation of energy efficient and sustainable communities, whether that be a company, campus, or city. It is a holistic tool for assessing any configuration of buildings throughout their lifecycle. Connecting distributed energy networks, renewables, master plans, building design, operation and retrofit.
In the session, we demonstrated the capabilities of this new technology through use case examples. Including how IES delivered an interactive 3D visualisation and masterplanning model for Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, which along with virtual testing, detailed operational modelling of 21 buildings and performance optimisation, uncovered campus wide energy savings of 31% and $4.7m cost savings.
