05th June 2015
Consulting-Specifying Engineer has announced the recipients of its 2015 40 Under 40 award. This award is given to 40 building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in all aspects of their lives. Michael Pollock of Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) was selected for this year’s list. Michael is the fourth IES employee to receive the award, joining his colleagues Michelle Farrell (2011), Mark Gifford (2013), and Mark Knipfer (2014) on this prestigious list of young professionals.
Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged based on commitment to excellence in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement. The May issue of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine profiled each young professional, highlighting traits that lead them to continued success, recent professional projects, and personal achievements.
“These diverse young professionals are dedicated to the building profession,” said Amara Rozgus, Editor-in-Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer. “Now in its eighth year, the program has increased in the number of nominees, and each winner truly stands out both professionally and personally.”
A specialist in Part L Building Regulations and HVAC, Michael Pollock has experience of working across the globe, including projects in the UK, Middle East Asia, Canada and India as Project Leader of Special Projects. A notable project includes the £125m SSE Hydro concert venue in Glasgow, UK, carrying out energy analysis, 3D modelling and Building Regulations simulations. Michael is often chosen to perform Part L validation tests to ensure the Virtual Environment (VE) software is compliant, in addition to ASHRAE 140 validation tests.
“We’re delighted for Michael and very proud to have him as a longstanding member of the IES team, said Dr. Don McLean, founder and CEO of IES. “His expertise has been invaluable to the growth of our consulting division, he is an excellent mentor and role model for his colleagues.
He adds, “The fact that Michael is the fourth member of staff to receive this prestigious award is testament to the many talented people we have at IES.”
