IES Named LEED® Proven Provider™ by Green Building Certification Institute
Status Acknowledges IES’ Role as High-Quality LEED Project Administrator
03rd December 2014
December 3, 2014 - IES has announced that the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) has recently designated it as a LEED® Proven Provider™. This designation was developed to streamline the LEED project review process for experienced organizations that demonstrate consistent excellence in administering LEED projects.
As an experienced provider of high quality LEED consulting services, IES was chosen as a pilot candidate for the LEED Proven Provider designation and has been submitting projects in the program for at least 18 months. By receiving an official designation as part of the inaugural group, IES has proved that it consistently provided high-quality project submissions to the standard of the designation throughout the testing period and beyond.
“Quality is at the core of the LEED certification process, and IES exhibited expertise in helping to bring healthy, high-performing buildings to the market,” said Doug Gatlin, vice president of program delivery, USGBC and GBCI. “The LEED Proven Provider model represents a great partnership between IES and GBCI, because it allows GBCI to maintain a rigorous certification program and gives IES the opportunity to deliver LEED projects to its clients faster.”
“We are very proud of the quality of LEED services that we provide and this designation is a fantastic endorsement for us, and more importantly an advantage to our clients” said Brenda Morawa, LEED Fellow and Vice President of IES, North America. “In IES we have 21 LEED Accredited Professionals led by Mark Knipfer, who has implemented a quality assurance process that directly resulted in recognition by this program.”
LEED Proven Provider is designed to encourage and reward high-quality LEED project submissions to minimize the need for additional work during the project review process. It represents an opportunity for IES and LEED reviewers to work together to enhance the LEED certification experience, simultaneously allowing IES to further invest in quality control and continuous improvement and allowing LEED reviewers more opportunities for direct engagement with and support for project teams.
Recently certified LEED projects from IES include:
- Three separate projects at CityCenter DC including an office portion, a condominium portion and rental apartments as well as a Gold LEED for Neighborhood Development certification
- Bellhaven Medical Office Building, Jackson, MS, LEED CSv2009, Silver
- Forest Park Medical Center, Frisco, TX LEED NC2009, Silver
Organizations that demonstrate and maintain high-quality project submissions through LEED Proven Provider receive significant benefits, such as greater access to a LEED reviewer and recognition from USGBC for their sustained track record of high-quality project submissions.
