IES Software Approved for South African Building Energy Regulations
Officially approved by Agrément South Africa for energy regulation compliance
06th November 2013
Cape Town, 6 November 2013 - Global building performance analytics company, IES has today announced that its Virtual Environment software suite has been approved by Agrément South Africa as an official tool for compliance with its energy regulations. Features of the software are explicitly required to enable modeling in terms of Agrément South Africa’s assessment protocol.
IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) Software is an integrated software system for environmental performance assessment of buildings. Dynamic thermal simulation is carried out using ApacheSim calculation methods and software. The software provides tools specifically designed for both architects and engineers to design and operate buildings that consume significantly less energy and incorporate low carbon and renewable technologies.
According to the agreement IESVE may be used for the rational design air-conditioned buildings or naturally ventilated buildings of all occupancies in terms of the requirements of Regulation XA3 b) and c) of Part XA: Energy usage in buildings of the National Building Regulations.
Don McLean, Founder and Managing Director of IES said, “I am delighted that our software is now approved for South African building energy regulations. We are similarly approved for building regulations in the UK, Europe and America and we are pleased to add South Africa to the list. Being recognised by Regulation Authorities throughout the world for the accuracy and efficiency of our software is very important to us and we continually strive to ensure our tools are of the highest standard.”
Special offer packages are available from IES and training seminars and workshops are intended to be held in South Africa in the near future.
