IES Title 24 compliance tool to be released July 1st
Demonstrations will take place at AIA, booth #2951, June 26-28
24th June 2014
June 24th 2014 –- IES will be demonstrating its new building compliance tool for California’s Title 24 at this year’s AIA, Chicago. The first commercial software to be approved, the tool is ready for the launch of the regulations on July 1st.
IES is currently the only software provider in California to combine holistic design and commercial building compliance in one software pack. It will provide an alternative calculation method for demonstrating performance compliance with the non-residential provisions of the 2013 Building Energy Efficiency Standards, California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 6, and associated administrative regulations in part 1, Chapter 10 (Standards).
Features of the tool include:
- Model geometry can be imported from SketchUp, Revit, DXF, gbXML and IFC.
- 2D drawings can be extruded automatically to a 3D model or built from scratch using ModelIT.
- Integrated data model shares input data across all VE modules including the VE-Navigator for ASHRAE 90.1 (LEED Energy), Dalylighting and Solar analysis modules.
- Edit multiple rooms for rapid data assignment.
- Data input visualisation – easily interrogate input data.
A series of web demos are scheduled for the coming months, with the first taking place June 30th 2014, 10am PST. More dates can be viewed on the IES website and those interested can register via http://www.iesve.com/software/title-24.
IES face to face training and e-training sessions are planned for July this year after the launch of the regulations. The training is intended to give current and new users of the IESVE a rounded knowledge of the Title 24 approach. The face to face training will take a practical, hands-on approach covering a number of test cases. For more information about training visit www.iesve.com/title-24.
