Boston – January 23, 2013 – Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), a provider of integrated performance analysis software and consulting services for sustainable building design, will showcase its innovative energy modeling technology and updated HVAC solutions at the International Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Exposition (AHR Expo), January 28-30, 2013. Architects, engineers and many other HVACR industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to view live demonstrations of IES’ VE-Navigator for ASHRAE 90.1 and its enhanced ApacheHVAC tools.
HVAC enhancements to its VE-Pro building performance simulation software within the ApacheHVAC module include expanded waterside capabilities, allowing users to model a broad range of equipment configurations across chilled and hot water systems.
The new expanded waterside capabilities include:
- Heat transfer water loop with water-to-air heat pumps
- More pre-cooling options in chilled water loop, in addition to integrated waterside economizer
- Heat recovery from condenser water loops to hot water and heat transfer loops
- Radiators and Chilled Ceilings now “see” hot and chilled water loop temperatures
- DX cooling reorganization
- OR connections extend to provide time switch override function
In addition to added waterside capabilities, ApacheHVAC has been given a facelift with a new systems interface including new component graphics, redesigned toolbars and easy-to-use drag and drop features. New drawing tools and improved import and export functions offers engineers the ability to create and save their own customized systems a library.
Through a detailed step-by-step workflow, the VE-Navigator makes LEED energy modeling easy and streamlines the LEED analysis and submission process. It improves modeling efficiency and enables users to model ASHRAE 90.1 & 62.1 baseline systems more accurately by automating key sizing and system processes. The tool also creates reports automatically in a format suitable for submission and includes built-in quality assurance. This minimizes errors and supports design team collaboration.
“With our HVAC and ASHRAE 90.1 tools, users can model energy-efficient systems in conjunction with dynamic simulation for a whole-building approach,” said Dr. Don McLean, founder and CEO of IES. “As the ‘Hub’ for sustainable design advancements, we look forward to participating at AHR Expo and demonstrating the importance of utilizing quantifiable performance information to design truly sustainable buildings.”
Integrated Environmental Solutions’ (IES) mission is to advance the sustainability of the world’s built environment through the use of integrated performance modelling technology, delivering resource efficient, low-energy, zero-carbon buildings and cities for future generations.
