The Middle East High-Rise Summit – Dubai UAE
30th May 2016
As part of the Dubai FM Expo 2016, a small section dedicated to the high rise buildings in the region was held, called “The Middle East High-Rise Summit”’. Don A. Davidson Director - Head of Mechanical, Sustainability, and Comissioning, Building engineering, UAE and Oman AECOM – spoke about “BIM AND ENERGY MODELING FOR HIGH-RISE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION”
During the beginning portion of his seminar, he focused on the importance of using the BIM model for the energy model to reduce errors and increase involvement at the earliest design stages. He showed some examples of importing Revit models into IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) software, as well as showcased their model for ICD Brookfield Place tower in DIFC, Dubai, which is being analysed in the IESVE. This provides yet another examples of the use of IES software for the most innovative companies in the region, and how the IESVE is constantly being used to model and test some of the most state-of-the-art high-rise designs.
