RESSEEPE

REtrofitting Solutions and Services for the enhancement of Energy Efficiency in Public Education

Project Summary

The RESSEEPE project was launched with the aim of developing and demonstrating an easily replicable methodology for designing, constructing, and managing public building and district renovation projects, realising near net-zero energy. The project combined design and decision making tools and innovative building fabric manufacturers together with a strong programme to demonstrate improvements in building performance through retrofitting.

The developed methods and tools were implemented at several demo sites to ensure ease of replicability of retrofit solutions over a range of public building types with specific functionality.

IES' Role

IES were responsible for the financial and administrative management of RESSEEPE, ensuring sound coordination of the project covering administrative, legal, financial, quality and risk related issues, and the relation with the EC. IES also took the lead on developing the decision support tool ("Retrofit Planner") along with the design methodology, encompassing: Integrated Project Delivery, Public Building Information Modelling, Life Cycle Analysis, Life Cycle Cost and energy performance simulation, as well as defining the detailed design for each public demo site.
