.NET Azure Technical Lead

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Technical Lead to design and build one of our leading greenfield products. You will play a strategic role in the architecture of the system including the front-end applications, backend services and databases. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and modern .NET development, as well as demonstrable experience designing cloud applications. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.

 

Duties and responsibilities

The .NET Azure Technical Lead is responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to execute the cloud strategy as part of the software development process
  • Provide architectural and technical expertise, direction, and assistance to the software development team
  • Design, document, and implement changes to the system’s architecture to meet long-term business needs
  • Ensure that the existing system’s architecture is aligned with organisational goals and objectives
  • Develop product functionalities as part of a Scrum development team
  • Analyse business and functional requirements for distillation into technical specifications
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Act as a mentor providing guidance to all team members on technical and architectural issues
  • Ensure that the applications meet IES’ DevSecOps programme security requirements
  • Coordinate and lead application production releases

The Candidate

The .NET Azure Technical Lead should have the following -

Essential:

  • At least 6 years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Extensive knowledge in .NET (Core 3.1 and newer), Azure, Docker, relational and non-relational databases
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical leader
  • Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis
  • Experience designing and documenting software architectures
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

Desired:

  • Experience working with Azure DevOps and git
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) would be beneficial
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends
  • Ability to prototype as a result of research
  • Ability to present ideas in audience-appropriate language
  • Ability to manage business and technical relationships with internal clients
