The Opportunity
Technical Support requires a Support Consultant to add to the existing team in the UK to provide direct high-quality guidance to our global user base in order to advise on effective use of the IES software products in order to meet project goals and deadlines. The Support Consultant will have the opportunity to work with different departments within IES and will be provided with comprehensive training to develop their own skills with both existing and new products and services.
Duties will include:
- Providing support via email or telephone directly to customers.
- Assisting users with troubleshooting and diagnosis of model issues.
- Advising customers on modelling questions, related to software usage and application of industry knowledge.
- Contributing to quality of assistance provided by the company in the form of Knowledge Base Content, User Guides reviews and other proactive guidance.
- Representing users to the company and development team product strategy groups, includes liaising with users to capture details of errors, collecting and commenting on user feedback and presenting usability issues for consideration in future developments.
- Working with the Support team to ensure knowledge and skills are shared effectively, involves learning from others as well as providing guidance.
- Formal training on new software features, products and company services will be provided on an on-going basis.
- The Support Consultant will have access to the expert guidance and advice of our world class development and consultancy teams. This role will provide an unparalleled opportunity to gain advanced understanding of our software features as well as industry and regulatory updates.
The Candidate
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
- Educated to degree level in engineering discipline or related field.
- Experience using Virtual Environment (highly desired) or other building simulation software.
- Interest or experience in building physics and principals of HVAC modelling (desired).
- Experience of working in a customer services or customer focussed environment, ideally where have communicated directly with customers (desired).
- Passion to collaborate with software users in such a way as to allow them to achieve project deadlines and use software to full potential to realise goals.
- Ability to work on own for periods but to be able to summarise and report to team so can contribute as a whole to building up knowledge of team’s activities.
- Enthusiasm to take responsibility for own work and to ensure every job is done to the highest level while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
