Advanced UK Modelling Initiatives

Building design modelling is getting more complex and the need to close the performance gap is ever increasing. Accurate building modelling needs to be considered from the concept stage right through to the operation stage of the building lifecycle.  The UK aims to be net-zero carbon by 2050, with some cities looking to beat that target by several years. Attaining these lower targets requires the feedback that can only be provided by building simulation and tracking energy and carbon performance across the entire building life cycle.

The introduction with new schemes and methodolgies such as NABERS UK and CIBSE Technical Memorandums on top of existing regulations and requirements may seem overwhelming, but IES Consulting are perfectly placed to take your model to the next level.

Our UK Services

Our expert team of consultants are ideally placed to provide modelling services for UK methodologies, schemes and rating systems in addition to helping organisations meet their corporate responsibilities and reduce their ambitious carbon targets.

London Plan

Meet London Plan Net-Zero targets with Whole Life-Cycle Costing & Energy Monitoring.

Our expert consulting team work with the 2020 London Plan version and can provide assistance throughout the three stages of the 'Be Seen' level and the RIBA stages from the detailed design into the handover and in-use.

Using the IESVE and our partner software, OneClickLCA, we can also undertake whole life-cycle costing assessments on your behalf for pre-application, stage 1 submission (RIBA stage 2/3) and post-construction (RIBA stage 6).

IES provide software, training and consulting enabling you to meet NABERS UK five step Design for Performance approach.

Our consulting team have extensive experience of Australian NABERS and enabled buildings to attain six star world-leadership status. Our expertise translates to the newly released NABERS UK.

Ensure compliance with NABERS metering and consumption rules.

CIBSE Technical Memorandums

Our team are knowledgable in all CIBSE technical memorandums and have vast experience on thermal comfort projects using CIBSE TM52 and TM59 simulations.

Our experts have undertaken numerous projects using TM54 model calibration to obtain an accurate and detailed prediction of energy use and close the performance gap.

We also provide services monitoring the operational performance of buildings in line with CIBSE TM 61-65.

Take a look at the on-demand CIBSE Certification webinar our team presented on.

Close the Performance Gap between predicted and actual energy consumption

  • Earn 4 BREEAM ENE01 credits by undertaking advanced energy modelling at the detailed design stage to inform predictions of operational energy consumption
  • Earn 2 BREEAM ENE02 credits by providing detailed energy metering strategy in accordance with CIBSE TM39 to compare predicted and actual energy consumption
  • Alignment between RIBA stages and BREEAM New Construction Design Stage and Post Occupancy Assessment
  • Expert users in recommend software IESVE with extended modelling capabilities

Net Zero Carbon Targets

Our expert consulting team worked with Scottish Future Trust to produce the modelling guide for Net Zero Carbon Public Sector Buildings (NZCPSB) required by the Scottish Government to acheive the net zero carbon target by 2045 through the ambitious Delivered Energy Target and Carbon Strategies.

Accurate and in-depth building simulation modelling needs to increase and be applied across all stages of the building lifecycle; from the application stage right through to the monitoring and performance stage. Our highly skilled team have experience of this across all levels and are currently working on Pathfinder Projects for local authorities.
