Daylight Illuminance Analysis

The tool identifies and quantifies daylight illuminance in predefined lux categories (<100 lux, 100-500 lux, 500-2500 lux, and >2500 lux). These ranges are selected to represent a spectrum of lighting conditions, from dimly lit to overly bright environments, enabling a nuanced analysis aligned with recognized daylighting standards.

Lux categories and their inference:

  • <100 lux: Often considered insufficient for most tasks; indicative of areas that may require additional artificial lighting.
  • 100-500 lux: Suitable for general activities; reflects comfortable lighting for everyday use.
  • 500-2500 lux: Ideal for tasks requiring focus; ensures ample lighting without excessive brightness.
  • >2500 lux: Excessively bright; could lead to glare and may require shading solutions to mitigate.
