Create Daily APACHE Profiles (ApPro) from External Spreadsheet
This 2-step script will (1) Generate a spreadsheet for you to populate with hourly data, and (2) Push that hourly data into a newly created Daily Profile (Modulating or Absolute) into ApPro. Workflow avoids native ApPro.
Create Daily APACHE Profiles (ApPro) from External Spreadsheet
This 2-step script addresses a high-priority request from IESVE user to allow for easier Profile creation in ApPro. Since most of the hourly or subhourly data may be available in spreadsheet formal already, this suggested workflow completely avoids using ApPro natively for creating Daily Profiles. The workflow is a two-step process.
(1) Generate the spreadsheet. This is for the user to populate with (sub)hourly data. Spreadsheets should be saved to the model’s Content\ApPro folder. Upon a repeat action to generate a spreadsheet, users shall be presented with the choice to create an alternative file with a different name, or write over the existing ApPro_Profile_Template.xlsx file.
(2) Push that (sub)hourly data into a newly created Daily Profile (Modulating or Absolute) in ApPro.
Features include:
- Profile types: Modulating or Absolute
- Units: SI or IP
- Support for step-changes: ApPro will require a pair (two) of rows for the same hour for a transition. This Yes/No setting will allow for those stepped inputs to be supported. A ‘No’ choice will result in a ramped shape.
- Profile Groups: Grouped to support Weekday, Saturday, & Sunday. However, users may use these groups in any means they wish.
- Intervals: 60, 30, 10, or 6 minutes. This is in line with the lowest possible reporting interval in ApacheSim’s annual simulation setting. This setting will set the number of rows in the spreadsheet.
- Profile Categories: There are Yes/No options for categories including Cooling, Daylighting, Equipment, EV Charging, Heating, HVAC, HVAC-linked, Lighting, Miscellaneous, Occupancy, Plant, Solar, Ventilation, Water.
- A ‘Scratch’ tab in the spreadsheet for custom editing, organization of data. This tab is ignored in the input.
- An ‘INDEX’ tab in the spreadsheet for validation of inputs that may be ready for import.
- Bulk Import: Supports a bulk import into IESVE with three days per Group, five groups per tab, and four tabs = 60 daily profiles per spreadsheet, with unlimited spreadsheets.
