IES helps public sector to achieve maximum commercial value as a CCS supplier

IES, has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) SPARK and HELGA frameworks.

Crown Commercial Service (CCS) supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2020/21 CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.04 billion - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

Through the SPARK framework, IES will provide best in class digital twin building simulation tools and services based on fundamental physics principles, sensor data, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to deliver a range of decarbonisation outcomes for the built environment. Digital twin technology works across the timeline of any building or community, managing the present, road-mapping the future, and learning from the past. Digital twins present exciting opportunities to navigate the route to zero-carbon and sustainable and healthier communities.

The HELGA framework focuses on heat and energy networks, and via this framework, IES’s ICL platform will be available to plan, design, build and maintain resilient, zero-carbon community energy schemes. This includes giving an understanding of complex interactions between buildings, investigating energy generation, waste heat and storage strategies, linking electric vehicle charge points and more.

Craig McKendrick Business Development Manager at IES, said: “The built environment is a huge emitter of carbon, as well as a drain on finances if energy use is not adequately managed. For the public sector, these cost and carbon savings are absolutely crucial, so we are pleased to be able to support minimising these outputs. Being named as a CCS supplier is an exciting next step for us within our public sector focus, and we look forward to working closely with organisations to ensure their building stock is using energy in the best possible way for both the planet and taxpayers.”
