The Gemini Call is a weekly 30-minute stand-up for Digital Twin Hub (DT Hub) community members, held each Tuesday at 10:30am GMT. Hosted by Arup's Simon Evans, each Gemini Call features two focus presentations by members of the Digital Twin Hub, alongside community announcements and an audience-led Q&A.
Join the Gemini Call on Tuesday, 14th January where IES Senior Business Development Manager, Ian Pyburn, will be delivering a featured presentation on: "Leveraging digital twins to decarbonise existing buildings."
Ian's session will explore the real world application of IES digital twin technology to determine the energy efficiency and carbon impact of four different retrofit strategies to regenerate three of Dublin City Council’s vacant social housing blocks, constructed in 1962. He will demonstrate the power of this technology in guiding the optimimum retrofit strategies for existing buildings, outlining how this particular project, which took a whole-life carbon approach, identified 85% potential emissions reductions over a 60-year period, through an optimum deep retrofit strategy.
