IES’ Top 5 Energy Efficient Customer Case Studies

IES’ Top 5 Energy Efficient Customer Case Studies

Today marks Energy Efficiency Day, a day for reflecting on how we use energy and taking decisive action to reduce the amount we use and utilise it more efficiently. At IES we deliver technology that reduces the carbon emissions of buildings and cities worldwide. Our ultimate aim is to see that technology used by every building of every city to secure a healthy, sustainable and resource-efficient future.

To highlight what’s possible we had a look back over the last couple of years at some of the great work our customers have been doing using our technology. Here’s our top 5 Energy Efficient Customer Case Studies:

5. Smarter Council Offices, UK – SSE Enterprise and Daikin VRV Systems

SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions used the ICL range of Digital Twin Technologies and Daikin VRV Systems plug-in to create a calibrated model with 99.3% accuracy, to predict the savings potential of a unique heat recovery air conditioning strategy central to this retrofit.

Savings amounted to 171,814kWh electricity savings and 254,682kWh gas savings over 23 months

4. 3 Bures Office Building, Vilnius - EEPlius

EEPlius used IESVE to achieve the highest LEED Rating (Platinum) in the Baltic States for the 3 Bures Office Building.

The building also received an A rating energy efficiency level and gained the award of “The best BIM public building project” given by the national digital construction association.

3. Catalyst Building, Spokane, Washington State – McKinstry

Using IESVE, McKinstry is on track to meet zero-energy certification goals for the Catalyst Building in Washington State.

This building is the largest and one of the first to receive the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Zero Energy Certification.

2. Lab Buildings, California – Zero Envy

Zero Envy used IESVE to obtain utility incentives for their energy savings relative to California’s energy code Title 24.

The total savings achieved were 46% and 38% less TDV energy than Title 24. Which equated to $400,000 and $170,000 cost savings per year and in turn were awarded $150,000 and $500,000 respectively in utility incentives via Savings by Design.

1. New York University, Abu Dhabi – Alpin Limited

For this project New York University achieved savings of 30% above the ASHRAE 90.1 baseline.

As a company, through completion of around 30 large projects using IESVE, Alpin Limited has saved a massive 100,978,875.60 Kilowatt hours, equal to more than 44,000 tonnes of CO2.
