IES joins the Food & Drink Federation as a Professional Affiliate Member

We are excited to announce that IES has recently joined the Food & Drink Federation (FDF) as a Professional Affiliate Member! The FDF is a powerful voice for the UK’s vibrant, resilient and diverse food and drink manufacturing industry and, with more than 1,000 members, represents the largest manufacturing sector in the country. In joining FDF, IES hopes to be able to share its expertise in digital twinning for manufacturing to help those operating in the food and drink sector to improve the energy and carbon performance of their facilities and work towards their net-zero goals.

IES recognise the challenges the food and drink sector face to reach net-zero, particularly in understanding the complex energy needs of factories where there are multiple production lines, data sources and systems to manage, alongside the facility buildings.

Our digital twin solutions can help FDF members, and indeed any other manufacturers in the sector, to address these common data challenges, while offering a range of capability to assess different decarbonisation scenarios, optimise process efficiency, reduce energy, CO2 emissions and costs, and explore potential for local energy production and waste heat recovery, in one centralised platform.

Adam Goves, Sector Lead – Manufacturing & Infrastructure at IES, commented: “The food and drink industry represents the largest portion of the UK manufacturing sector and has an important role to play in contributing to our national carbon reduction targets. I look forward to engaging with other FDF members on the benefits which our solutions can bring to the sector to help optimise the performance of their facilities and work collaboratively towards a net-zero future.”

We look forward to collaborating with FDF over the coming months so watch this space for more details coming soon! In the meantime, you can find out more at: https://www.fdf.org.uk/fdf/about-fdf/
