VE Tech Tips - Revit to IESVE via New Pollination Plug-in Workflow

VE Tech Tips - Revit to IESVE via New Pollination Plug-in Workflow

This VE Tech Tip explores how to use the latest Pollination workflow within Revit, to easily export geometry, for import into the VE in native geometry format. It covers:

  • Considering the impact of different settings on the geometry export
  • Using the model preview function to help visualise our geometry export
  • Creating a model “snapshot”, which can then be edited within the new model editor desktop application.
  • Exporting in GEM format from the model editor, which is the native geometry only file format for the VE
  • Importing GEM file into the VE, and undertake final geometry checks

The .GEM file only contains geometry information, so there is no need to set the construction data in Revit prior to export – this can be done quickly and easily within the VE using Apache.

Watch the Tech Tip on using the Master Template Wizard here, to see how to speed up the assignment of data to projects in the VE.

Watch the Tech Tip covering pollinations “legacy workflow” for Revit to VE transfer, which is still available within the plug-in here.
