VE Tech Tips - How to run an APSH Calculation within IESVE

The VE lets you run calculations for Annual Probable Sunlight Hours (APSH) calculations, using the SunCast application. An APSH calculation measures the amount of direct sunlight, in hours, that a window is expected to receive over the course of the year.

This VE Tech Tip explores how to prepare and run an APSH calculation and how to view the results in different formats. It covers how to:

  • Run a solar shading calculation for a full year, desired time period or design day.
  • Choose how to view results: in a table, or on the model
  • Display APSH results on the VE model openings and change which results are displayed
  • Change APSH calculation settings and update results accordingly

Watch the video on how to set up and run Annual Probable Sunlight Hours calculations within the VE below.
