VE Tech Tips - UK Part L Compliance

VE Tech Tips - UK Part L Compliance

The VE offers a simple workflow to use an existing 3D model of the real building, to create the actual building for UK Part L compliance. The VE will then link to the selected version of SBEM or DSM, and generate the notional building automatically in a workflow that significantly increases productivity. Watch the Tech Tip below to learn more.

This Tech Tip is part of a series of videos that considers the differences between the real building, the actual building and the notional building as defined for UK Part L Compliance. It considers how the data assigned to the actual building can impact on compliance targets, with hints and tips to help improve results and meet targets, including:

  • The differences between the real building, the actual building and the notional building
  • The impact of zone heights and voids on the notional building
  • Horizontal zoning procedures for daylight-based dimming
  • Object type, and its importance for compliance
  • The effect of different construction settings
  • Lighting options for SBEM versus DSM results and targets
  • System settings and the impact they can have on compliance
