IES’ Johan Haeberle recently featured on Focus Entreprises, hosted by BFM Business, to discuss the benefits of dynamic thermal simulation (DTS) for improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort.
“Dynamic thermal simulation is an essential tool for correctly estimating building consumption and thermal comfort. Faced with some low-cost simulation offers, we believe it's useful to allocate a sometimes slightly higher budget to obtain a quality study. A well-conducted simulation is enough to provide results 100 times better!” says Johan.
Dynamic thermal simulation can be carried out using IES’ Virtual Environment (VE) software. The VE is currently used by more than 15,000 sustainable design experts across the globe, and has been used to model over 1.5 million buildings. Tried and tested over three decades, our unrivalled APACHE simulation engine sits at the heart of the VE to provide accurate analysis across a range of performance metrics and decarbonisation options.
