IES R&D Project ‘Minority Report’ Named in Top 10 Horizon Europe Deep Tech Innovations

I’m delighted to announce that the EU funded ‘Minority Report’ project, led by IES R&D, has been recognised as number 8 in the Top 10 Horizon Europe Deep Tech Projects Transforming the Future. This prestigious recognition highlights our team's exceptional contribution to innovation for climate and disaster resilience.

The Minority Report project, officially titled "Mitigating Environmental Disruptive Events Using People-Centric Predictive Digital Technologies To Improve Disaster And Climate Resilience," represents a significant advancement in how we approach urban resilience against climate change and natural disasters. With €5.3 million in funding spanning 2024-2027, this initiative brings together 16 partners across three demonstration sites in Dublin (Ireland), Patras (Greece), and Wellington (New Zealand).

Our talented R&D team is proudly leading this consortium as project coordinator, receiving €964,312 in total budget with €675,018.75 funded by the European Commission. The project's innovative approach combines AI-driven predictive technologies with digital twins and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to enhance risk assessment and disaster prediction capabilities.

What sets Minority Report apart is its holistic integration of advanced monitoring systems for early warning and emergency response, alongside circular construction approaches that simultaneously reduce carbon footprints and enhance building resilience. The project aims to achieve unprecedented environmental targets including 70% energy savings, 30% carbon footprint reductions, and 60% environmental impact reduction.

This achievement recognises the exceptional work of our R&D team in co-ordinating the development of a people-centric technology platform that will transform how cities prepare for and respond to extreme weather events and natural disasters, from heat waves and category 5 storms to wildfires, floods, and earthquakes.

Congratulations to everyone at IES R&D for this outstanding achievement. Your commitment to innovation and sustainability continues to position us at the forefront of technologies that will reshape our future.
