IES is excited to be supporting a revolutionary initiative, ASSURE, anchored by the Indian Institute of Human Settlements (IIHS), in a knowledge partnership with Infosys. ASSURE is transforming India’s energy and carbon-intensive real estate sector and supports decarbonisation of its building stock.
The ASSURE initiative, under its capacity development track, will skill and upskill over 12,000 students and practitioners in high-performance building principles. It aims to realise 100 million square feet of high-performance commercial buildings in India by 2030, through the delivery of lighthouse projects across Indian cities.
In doing so, it is anticipated that ASSURE will:
As a global leader in building performance simulation software and consultancy services to decarbonise the built environment, IES will provide ASSURE learners with access to our IESVE software and on-demand learning platform for two months upon joining the programme, to support their learning. Meanwhile, our expert team will also provide training to the IIHS team in the application of IESVE technology for the design and retrofit high performance buildings.
ASSURE’s capacity development programmes, which are fully-funded (subject to IIHS T&Cs), are particularly relevant for early career professionals working in India’s building and real estate development sectors, as well as those pursuing academic degrees in related fields. The multi-format immersive learning programme is delivered in a mixed hybrid format, and is now accepting registrations via the ASSURE website.
Mithi Dave, Senior Business Development Manager at IES commented: “We are delighted to be supporting ASSURE in this important venture to accelerate the decarbonisation of India’s commercial building stock.
IES has spent the past 30 years pioneering the development and application of building simulation technology to deliver more energy efficient, low-carbon and high-performing buildings. We are committed to supporting the future development of our industry to minimise the impact of the global built environment, and look forward to seeing the impact that the ASSURE programme will have in accelerating India’s net-zero ambitions.”
Manish Dubey, Chief - Practice at IIHS adds: “ASSURE is envisioned to be the world’s largest effort to decarbonise real estate by realising High Performance Buildings. India’s real estate sector is large, rapidly growing, and a major source of emissions, currently accounting for around 21-22% of the region’s CO2 output.
Without intervention, conventional approaches risk locking in decades of inefficiency, emissions, and missed opportunities. High Performance Buildings present a game-changing opportunity to meet various business, climate and sustainability, innovation, and job creation goals across India. We are delighted to partner with IES and provide the next generation of net-zero building professionals with the tools they need to bring our vision to life.”
