IES Software approved for Ontario’s integrated design incentive program

IESVE approved tool for Savings by Design

26th April 2016

The IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) has been officially approved as an energy modeling tool with Ontario’s Savings by Design program for the Integrated Design Process (IDP). The program covers the costs up to $30,000 for a visioning and IDP sessions with a preliminary energy model which includes a preliminary and final report, along with the logistics, catering and design expert fees.

“Building green does not necessarily mean additional capital costs. We have assisted projects that have built a higher level of energy efficiency while costing less – through trade-offs and right sizing.” Mary Sye, Marketing and Program Manager for New Commercial Construction at Enbridge Gas Distribution.

Jean Carriere, Business Development Manager for IES in Canada commented, “We’re delighted to have been approved as an official software provider for this program. Not only do programs like these help to create energy efficient and better performing buildings, they help to educate the industry on what is possible through an integrated design process which is the message IES has been promoting for decades.”

If you’d like to get started with the VE, there are two ½ day workshops at eSim in Hamilton on May 3-6. The first workshop is on early stage energy analysis using parametric simulations, and the second is on dynamic daylighting for thermal energy savings.
