TIPS4PED
Turning cIties Planning actionS for Positive Energy Districts into success
Project Summary
TIPS4PED aims to create a Digital Twin-based Platform for Positive Energy Districts (PED), supporting municipalities in decision-making with evidence-based results. It focuses on PED design and PED operational stages, looking at energy management, environmental sustainability and cost reduction through an end-user and people-centric approach, by engaging PED stakeholders and citizens in the process. The project plans to test and replicate solutions in Turin, Cork, Kozani, and Budapest, contributing to EU 2030 goals with scalable technologies
IES' Role
IES is involved in developing the Digital Twins of the project, enabling the design, roadmapping and operation of all PEDs through IES's suit of tools. In this sense, Digital Twins will assist in decision-making by delivering a series of evidence-based results, increasing the environmental sustainability of districts and reducing operational costs. This tool will be developed through an end-user's co-design approach, involving PED managers, building energy managers, campus energy managers, and municipalities' energy managers, aligning end-user's needs and product development through IES UX expertise.
