IES Consulting used CFD to model the air flows and movement of soil particulates in the analysis of this treatment facility in South Victoria, Australia. The modelling was required to ensure that the installed air handling equipment did not induce particulate air transfer from the mounds where the soil was deposited so to ensure soil was not carried outside the facility. IES analysed a series of plant operation modes to determine the associated risk level.
