IESVE Software Directly Integrates with AIA 2030 Commitment Reporting

IESVE Software now directly uploads energy model results to the AIA 2030 Commitment website via new functionality within the IESVE Navigators framework. You can launch the upload process with one easy click. The link between IESVE Software and the AIA 2030 DDx website uses an API connection, which enables more extensive and easier reporting for IESVE Software users and the 525+ committed firms.

Free Architecture 2030 Navigator

The Architecture 2030 Navigator is free to use. However, you need an AIA 2030 firm key to upload a project to your firm’s portfolio. Please ensure your firm is an official participating signatory to the AIA 2030 Challenge.

This new IESVE software integration supports the AIA 2030 Challenge.  All new buildings, developments, and major renovations must be carbon-neutral by 2030 through sustainable design. Users can now track their progress against the AIA 2030 goals with this streamlined upload.

Achieve Carbon Neutral Goals

An AEC firm’s ability to meet their AIA 2030 commitments, by progressing towards carbon-neutrality within the built environment, depends largely on being able to measure their portfolios progress towards their carbon-neutral goals.

AEC building designers can analyze energy and carbon metrics directly within IESVE software, as well as modeling of renewable energy production (PV, Wind, Geo, Solar-thermal) that is building-specific within IESVE software.  An example of the of an automated IESVE energy model output is shown to the left:

The AIA 2030 Commitment emphasizes the following performance metrics:

  • Carbon Emissions & Energy Use Intensity (EUI)
  • Lighting Power Density (LPD)

TEN Key Building Energy Metrics

This article summarizes ten key building energy metrics to help understand the landscape of building energy consumption.

TEN Key Daylight & Electric Light Metrics

This article summarizes ten key daylighting and electric lighting metrics that building designers must consider for various international building rating systems.

For Engineers and Energy Modelers

The AIA 2030 upload functionality is the same, but the design-phase and compliance application may be different. The functionality has been added to other IESVE Navigators. This further connects AIA 2030 reporting with building compliance modeling for ASHRAE 90.1-ECB; Florida Energy Code, Title 24 and LEED (ASHRAE 90.1-PRM).

This will likely be a more practical submission. The number of engineers and energy modelers (combined) outnumber the submissions from architecture teams. In the last three years, the ratio has been about 3.5 - 7.5.
