Assessing UK Compliance for residential buildings is made easy by the integration of IES Virtual Environment with JPA|TL. The integration links the IES 3D model and associated data with JPA SAP 9.92 Software tool streamlining the creation of Building Regulation Compliance and Energy Performance Certification.

SAP is the UK Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure which is used to assess the energy efficiency of dwellings and their rate of emission of carbon dioxide. JPA SAP Software is BRE approved in England and Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. It is intended to be used from the design stage through to completion and issue of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new dwellings.

Assess the energy performance of building using JPA SAP software by: 

• Calculating SAP Ratings for compliance of new builds and conversions
• Calculating Target Carbon Dioxide Emission Rate (TER) and Dwelling Carbon Dioxide Emission Rate (DER)
• Checking dwellings for compliance with the fabric and services efficiency standards of Building Regulations
• Lodging and issuing EPCs 
• Calculating carbon dioxide emission levels for Code of Sustainable Homes Assessments
• Calculating average TER and DER for multiple dwellings within apartment blocks or terraces
• Checking overheating risk against the requirements of Approved Document O

As IES has also created integrated plug-ins to SketchUp™ and Autodesk® Revit®, users can undertake these compliance calculations originating from a SketchUp or Revit model if desired.
