How to migrate removed Attributes from iCD 2024 to iCD 2025

The structure of the Building Model Attributes within iCD has been updated to deliver a more coherent and logical workflow to users in terms of setting models up and the inputs required. This update provides a more transparent link between the attribute values and the simulation results that come from the Apache engine so that a user can more readily identify the impact of the choices that they make when modelling the building.

The Query Tool, through which the building attributes are accessed, has also been restructured and updated to improve the user experience and make the editing of building models much easier.

To transfer attributes from 2024 to 2025 please follow the steps below:

On the old 2024 version’s toolbar click Extensions>IES iCD>Import/Export>Export CSV…

On the below pop up select Filter selected objects only, All buildings and Show. The buildings should be highlighted green as below.

From here you can select the attributes you want to export from the list on the right. In this example we’ll just select them all by clicking All. You will need to keep IESVE MP Object ID ticked under the attribute list as this will be used to match building IDs from 2024 to 2025 versions. Then click Export.

You be asked to save this file as per the below.

Once you’ve saved this in your chosen file path, you want to save and close your Sketchup model and install the new version of iCD 2025.

Once the installation is complete, open your model and now you need to create another CSV export similar to before for the iCD 2025 version. Steps below:

Extensions>IES iCD>Import/Export>Export CSV…

We have again selected All for the attributes to export.

Any old attributes you want transferred to your new model you will need to copy the column from your 2024 CSV into the last column on your 2025 CSV (this will add the removed attribute from 2024 to 2025 attributes as a custom attribute when you come to import). In the example below we’ve copied the now removed “Address # / street” attribute into the 2025 CSV.

Once you’re happy with your new 2025 CSV you can click the CSV import option below and follow the instructions.

Browse to your 2025 CSV:

Select IESVE MP Object ID for both dropdowns and click Next:

All rows should match as below, click Next:

The old address attribute “Address # / street” is now picked up as a custom attribute in step 4:

Click Import and your building data is now transferred to iCD 2025.

Additional Notes

Infiltration

"Infiltration max flow" renamed "Infiltration" to define the infiltration (Value in ac/h)

Heating/hot water generator efficiency

Attribute removed. Replaced by "Heating Source" and/or "Seasonal efficiency/CoP (Heating)"

Cooling generator efficiency

Attribute removed. Replaced by "Cooling Source" and/or "Seasonal EER (Cooling)"
