What connections are required for VE?

VE is a desktop application and will run without an internet connection however access to the following resources is required for online licence activation and refresh

The VE installation includes an exe to manage the connection to the licence portal. Please ensure that firewall/antivirus/endpoint protection systems do not block C:\Program Files\IES\VE 2024\apps\ies_auth_helper\ies_auth_helper.exe. The program requires the ability to open TCP ports internal to the machine.

If the user sees a message akin to "Can't reach this page" (IE), "This site can't be reached" (Chrome), or "Hmmm… can't reach this page" (Edge) on a localhost URL after logging in, the auth helper is most likely blocked.

The following domains must not be blocked on the firewall/endpoint protection system:

Authentication relies on Azure B2C:

connect.iesve.cloud

iesidentityprodukssaui.blob.core.windows.net [will be changed or removed in the near future]

*.vo.msecnd.net (any subdomain of vo.msecnd.net)

dc.services.visualstudio.com

My Licensing (licence portal):

mylicensing.iesve.com

To whitelist ip addresses in a firewall the following can be used for My Licensing Portal, open HTTPS port (443)

20.68.209.59

20.68.209.81

For Azure B2C connections then Microsoft have made a file available to download with a list of public IP ranges for each Azure service, which can be found here:
