Which version do I need to use for England EPC?
Part L2 2021 goes live for England on 15th June 2022.
There is to be no transition period on EPC lodgement so any projects completed after 15th June are required to be lodged using L2 2021 (SBEM/EPCgen 6.1.b)*.
VE 2022.1.0.0 is validated for both DSM (using Apache Sim engine) and SBEM methods and will generate EPC XML that can be lodged for all building types. The VE Compliance version is 7.0.15.0 and the regulation appears in VE Compliance in the dropdown as Part L2 (2021) - England.
*The only exception to this is for New Buildings that are already aligned to the 2013 regulations, these can be lodged using an EPC generated under L2 2013 (SBEM/EPCgen 5.6.b). If generating an EPC under these conditions then on VE Compliance interface in Building and System Data the Transaction Type can be set to 'Mandatory Issue (Property on Construction)'. If there is any doubt or clarity on this needed then the accreditation scheme will be able to advise further.
