ApachSim fails and gives an Error: ProcessSimulation::ps_loadComponentDB - error [code = 3] what does it mean? and how can it be fixed?

This error is caused by the project folder having duplicates of each file.

Try selecting File >>Save Project As and rename the project. This should only take across the files it needs and you will no longer get this error.
