Calculating District Heating CO2 Conversion Factor Guidance

Is there any guidance on how the district heating CO2 conversion factor is calculated?

This is explained in ADL2a section 4.15 which says that the calculation of the conversion factor should take into account the annual average performance of the whole system.

This conversion factor should represent the system efficiency and the carbon content of the fuel, therefore your system efficiency should already be factored into this value. You may have to go back to the heating provider for this figure, especially if there is more than one fuel type being used.

All systems fed from the District heating system will then use this factor in the calculation process. Bear in mind that as the District Heating CO2 conversion factor includes for system inefficiencies, the ApacheSystem heat generator seasonal efficiency should be set to 1. Also, there is no need to enter the use of CHP or any of it's performance criteria.
