How do I model a laminate pane of glass?
A laminated pane must be treated as a single layer. If you split it up into its composite layers you will introduce unrealistically large reflectances at the layer boundaries, as the program will assume there are air layers between them.
The recommended way of modeling a laminate pane would be to obtain the transmission properties of the composite from the manufacturer and enter these for a single glazed material pane. If this proves difficult, you can obtain a first approximation to the properties of a composite layer as follows:
Transmittance = product of transmittances of component layers
Outside reflectance = reflectance of outside layer
Inside reflectance = reflectance of inside layer.
