Can I use Kiva constructions with Compliance assessments and ratings in VE?
This depends on the compliance route in question:
- UK & Ireland Compliance: The use of Kiva in the actual model would mean that two different ground contact methods are used between the actual and notional, as the notional constructions are prescribed. Therefore Kiva cannot be used with UK & Ireland compliance routes
- ASHRAE 90.1 App G: Kiva is allowed but would need to be setup by the user for both the proposed and the baseline.
- ASHRAE 90.1 App G Florida Compliance: As with other 90.1 routes Kiva use in the proposed & baseline models is allowed, but for Florida the baseline constructions are locked and thus a software update is required. This will be available in a future update.
- Title 24: Kiva is allowed, however, as with Florida, the standard constructions are locked and thus a software update is required. This will be available in a future update.
