MacroFlo Opening Types: Set Angles Below 10 Degrees?
"Max Angle Open must be between 10 and 90 deg"
The 10 degree lower limit restriction is because the empirical data used to calculate the equivalent orifice area only covered the range 10 - 90 degrees.
The IES development team have raised a task to investigate the possibility of extrapolating the data to allow a greater range of angles to be specified and hopefully you will see this option in a future version of VE. In the meantime we advise that if you are concerned the opening types do not give the level of flexibility you require then you could look at calculating the equivalent orifice area yourself and then enter this directly selecting "Custom/sharp edge orifice" as opening category.
For reference the full details of the MacroFlo Opening Types options, data used and calculations can be found in the MacroFlo User Guide and MacroFlo Calculation Methods document, both of which can be accessed via VE Help menu >> User Guides.
