What Is the Perez Sky? IESVE Support FAQs

The Perez sky is a sky model available for dynamic daylighting simulation (UDI, sDA and ASE). When selected; the climate file data is used to obtain the direct normal and diffuse horizontal irradiance to generate the sky distribution. When deselected, the RadianceIES CIE overcast and sunny sky distributions are used to generate data, which can then be processed against the cloud cover (OKTA) data from the climate file. The Perez sky is required for some metrics such as IES LM-83 sDA.
