How to assign two different constructions in one surface.
Here we have a room that is currently using “STD_WAL2” as its external wall construction.
Say you want to assign two different constructions to the surface facing us (without the window).
To do this, go into ModelIT, select the room in Plan or Front View and select the Partition Tool highlighted below.
Then, select “Generate sub spaces within the selected zone” and “Divide without partitions”
Now, draw your partition where you want to divide the wall into two sections
Next, go into ApacheSim or VE Compliance. Switch to Axonometric view and move down a level to surface level.
Select the section of wall you want to assign the other construction to and then Assign Constructions
You will now have two different constructions assigned to one surface.
