When I attach my DXF the drawing is a very long way away from the origin?
The drawing you have saved to the DXF has the co-ordinates set to be long way away from the origin (probably inadvertently, i.e. by not explicitly being set).
Go back to your original drawing and set the origin to the bottom left corner and re-save your DXF. In ModelIT you can move your DXF to be nearer the model but this will not change the DXF, if you re-attach the same problem will occur.
